Lakshmi by Kokila

The aesthetic princess is drawn only to the beautiful
Born from turmoil; She Settles in those safe spaces
Bestowing it with riches to shelter her from the grotesque
She is fond of the calmness of the ocean, basking amidst
The coolness of the breeze, on the soft Adishesha
Where even a pinch of salt is annoying,
Let alone the soggy humidity

Not until she sees the cool blue as the relaxed red heat
Does she crawl into the lap of Narasimha
Soothing his rage albeit with fear replete
Before gently arriving as an unflinching Sita
Who bears it all with silent strength
Growing then into a fiery Draupadi
Desiring blood via poetic slaughter…

Totally devout , preferring domestication
Lakshmi wants to feel loved and cushioned
But without the ruffling of her feathers
By Rudra , she can never be Shakthi
Who thrives on salt and chilly
As the red fire melts her into calm blue
Krishna arises to robe her again

Otherwise eluding her forever with heartbreak
As Lakshmi realises that the master key
To Madhava’s emergent heart lies in
The damaru below neelakanda’s throat
