The syncretic floods of assorted appearances
Overflow with overwhelming meaning
Cross culturally and spatio-temporally conveying
The uncanny universality of the human condition
Reminding the human organism of His Being

Poseidon floods with typical Greek eccentricity
Sparing only the son of Fire, Deucalion
And daughter of Earth, Pyrrha to sacrifice
Which the Abrahamic God later demands
From Noah in wrathful vengeance
Burdening him with the onerous task of
Reviving and preserving life on earth
Which Utnapishtim carries out wholeheartedly
As a pleased Enlil reveals
Upon Ea’s compassionate insistence
The lost eleusinian mysteries
Guiding a later Gilgamesh
To immortality within..

Left : Noah’s ark, Centre: Poseidon, Right: Utnapishtim and Enlil

Meanwhile in India, Manu as mankind
Discovers a tiny tadpole
Seeing it’s plight, he rescues it
Keeps and feeds it
Nurturing it to grow geometrically
Into a gargantuan fish
Of Leviathan proportion

The now prodigious Matsya
Recognises Manushya(humanity)
As the meaning making mechanism
Amidst the never ending nihilism
Of Nature’s matsya nyaya ( law of the jungle)

Now anchoring Manu’s boat,
With the restricting
Yet flexible bends of Vasuki’s
Serpent body of space-time,
Matsya guides him through
The stormy waves of life
By stabilising the vicissitudes
Of the galloping horse mind

Left: Defeat of the horse mind, Right: The emergence of Hebo

He delivers to manu the sacred word of cosmic harmony
While revealing himself as a gigantically gorgeous Merman
Reemerging in perilous Chinese waters as a sapphiric Hebo
He bestows Manu with Ida, to complement his Pingala
Thus, Unleashing again
The endless domino of life, amidst total decimation
Round and round goes the merry-go round
Until one puts a stop by wholesome completion
Via ceaseless creative transformation

As Matsya departs, modern man repeats
Misperceiving meaning
While scoffing rationally at
The mechanism of meaning making

Can one find Logos without Mythos?
How does one navigate the land
While blinding oneself to the landscape?
Without common collective experience
How can there be human pathos?
Without pathos, what happens to righteous ethos?

Perhaps, we are finding out
With the unfolding of
The variant biological floods
Of vaccines and viruses
Alongside the cataclysmic Tsunami
Of nuclear Fukushima
Recklessly continuing to cleanse the ocean
With our myopic oil spills
we catastrophically deprive ourselves
Of encountering a fishy Zarathustra
Who may thus speak, again
About the Mystique behind
The mystical floods of meaning…

Thus, Spake Zarathustra
