The Skeptic
Every seer started as a sceptic
With the desire to know
Arose doubt to sanctify knowledge
To rescue her from the chains of dogma
That occludes her with oppression
Thus, the Scepticism of Cicero is a raging fire
That lights sense by smouldering the stains of nonsense
But a sincere thirst for knowledge
Is thwarted by a nagging thrust of cynicism
A suspicion , that is so materially certain about itself
No longer befuddled by the mysteries of life
Nor shaken by the absolute certainty of Death
The Cynic, catapults idiotic egoism
Over spiritually significant science
A fine line that one must trod
If Cotta is to complete the entire range
Of his VIBGYOR that encompasses
Serene Aurelian stoicism
Eternal Socratic wisdom
Ever arising Pythagorean mysticism
Along with his ever enduring scepticism
